The NAP-56A / NAP-67A Range

The next generation of low cost catalytic sensors from Nemoto. Similar in overall performance to the very popular NAP-55A / NAP-66A type sensors, but with a metal enclosure and phenolic resin header, NAP-56A and NAP-67A sensors benefit from a wider working temperature range of -20º C to +70º C. making these sensors ideally suited for use in detectors intended for use in Recreational Vehicles (RV), caravans and pleasure boats.


NAP-56A General Purpose Catalytic

Flammable Gas Sensor


General Description

The Nemoto NAP-56A is a new, improved low cost catalytic flammable gas sensor. Closely related to the very popular NAP-55A sensor, the NAP-56A uses exactly the same sensing elements, but the enclosure in which they are mounted employs a nickel plated brass mounting cap and a phenolic resin header, instead of the Nylon 66 material used in the NAP-55A. As a result, the sensor exhibits an increased sensitivity output and an increase in useful temperature range, whilst being very slightly larger in dimensions, compared to the NAP-55A.

The wider temperature range enjoyed by the NAP-56A device makes it particularly useful in Instruments designed for Caravans and other Recreational Vehicles.

NAP-67A Catalytic Flammable Gas Sensor optimised for Propane/Butane/LPG/Gasoline


General Description

The Nemoto NAP-67A is the version of the NAP-56A which is optimised for the detection of higher hydrocarbons such as LPG, Propane, Butane, Gasoline vapours etc.

It should not be used if the sensor is required to detect methane or natural gas, because its signal level on Natural gas is very small. But its signal for gases such as LPG is significantly higher than that of the NAP-55A. Closely related to the NAP-66A, the NAP-67A benefits from a slightly higher signal output and a wider temperature range which makes the NAP-67A particularly useful in Instruments designed for the detection of  LPG leaks Caravans and other Recreational Vehicles.
